Viral Marketing | ZAPSOCK

I have been finding a lot of different things about viral marketing lately. There were a couple of article that I read recently on Mashable.com; one from Josh Catone and another from Christina Warren. Christina wrote about the Elf Yourself website that comes around every Christmas. This site is one of the original viral sites that popped up. Apparently this site that has been sponsored by OfficeMax for the past four years and this year they hired several hundred dancing elves to dance in Union Square. Now that must be a costly investment. There are other very inexpensive methods to do viral marketing that Josh mentions in his article. The five main points for viral marketing are these:

1. Get creative with what you have.

2. Viral video doesn’t have to cost a lot.

3. Know your audience.

4. Have fun with your product.

5. Highlight what makes you unique.

Lesson five is from the Penny Pranks video. That one is my favorite.
