Seems like everytime I post, I am saying, “Wow, it has been awhile since I posted.” But I have been working on my other blog too, What is WOD?

I have actually been putting a pokies through shirts lot more effort into it.

I started CrossFit and I am eating healthy.

I have lost 55 lbs.

I still have more to go.

I still need to finish Terry Copper.

There you go.

Riding a Bike

So the book is so close to being done.

I received the proof in the mail and there are a few small edits that I need to make.

But that isn’t what I wanted to talk about.

On New Year’s Eve I was outside with my daughter teaching her to ride her bike without training wheels.

There are two ways that I have found to do this. I can hold on to the handle bars and keep her from falling or I can hold on to the back of the bike seat.

She wants me to hold on to the handlebars because then I can’t let go without her knowing.

When I am holding on to the back of the seat, I can let go and she doesn’t realize it.

These are the times that she just keeps riding.

And she does it well….

Until she realizes that I am not holding on anymore.

Then she loses control and crashes.

I think that we are like that sometimes when it comes to our work.

We need someone to guide us in the beginning.

This could be a coach, mentor, teacher, trainer or whatever he or she may be.

They show us the ropes and then they let go, sometimes without us even realizing it.

But once we realize it, we have a choice to make.

It is a choice.

We can choose to keep going.

Or we can choose to fail.

Which will it be?

Identifying and Eliminating Negative Stress | ZAPSOCK

Negative Stress?

Wait? So does that mean that there is positive stress?

One of the great philosophers of our day, Jaime Gomez, taught me that negative stress is caused by not being able to do what you want because you must do the things that you need.

That is negative stress. The emotional state created when we are not able to do what we want.

Positive Stress

Positive stress is the result of needs without wants or wants without needs.

It is healthy.

It keeps you moving.

It gives you that adrenaline rush to get things done.

Eliminating Negative Stress

You will never eliminate the things that you need to do, if they are in fact true needs.

If you can eliminate it without worry, it is not a true need.

  1. Eliminate some of the things that you want.
  2. Want to do the things you need.
  3. Need to do the things you want.

Do what you love, and love what you do.

Want what you have, and you will never want again.
