New Year’s Resolutions are Stupid

So I haven’t written much on this blog in a long while.

I started this post unsure of what I would write about.

I actually just started typing using www.themostdangerouswritingapp.com writing in Hardcore Mode.

That means that you can’t stop typing or else you lose all your progress.

Lately, I have been thinking about a lot of things.

I am not even sure why I have kept this blog up, except for the history of it all.

I looked back and my most recent post was almost three years ago.

Awhile back, I had also moved the blog from different servers to new servers.

I am not even sure if I did that right. I’m pretty sure I didn’t

Lately, I have just been wanting to write more.

I did a vision board this year, instead of New Year’s Resolutions.

I don’t want to have New Year’s Resolutions, instead I would rather change my lifestyle.

I can do this by simply changing the things that I am doing each day.

New Year’s Resolutions and goals have too much of a temporary feel to them for me.

I feel like when we set a goal, and then we accomplish it or don’t accomplish it, then what?

Where do we go from there.

I feel that if we focus on changing our everyday lives, little by little, we will eventually achieve those things that we want.

That’s why I did the vision board.

That way I can have my “North Star” to guide me in my daily activities.

I can use it as my compass point to look at where i should be heading.

It isn’t necessarily a goal.

Goals are stupid and frustrating.

I don’t want to just have a list of things that I need to accomplish each day in order to check off progress towards a goal.

I would rather have things that I want to do each day that get me closer to what I want to become.

What we become is so much more more important than what we do.

I want to become something greater.

It is the difference of saying, “I want to lose weight” vs “I want to become healthy”

They are similar things, however, one is focused on the becoming, and the other is focused on just doing.

So go out there and become something. Don’t just do something.

I’m the One to Blame for Health Care Reform | ZAPSOCK

So when I first heard that the health care reform (HCR) bill passed in the House yesterday, I was upset like most people. Then I realized how ignorant I have been. I haven’t looked into it for myself. I have been relying on everyone else’s opinion on the matter.

I don’t completely understand it. I stayed up late trying to read the text of the bill. It is extremely boring. I have read some more this morning. I am about 10% of the way through it at this point.

But then I realized that I don’t have to understand it completely. I am not going to fight it. I am not going to go picket on Capitol Hill. Why? Because this whole thing is my fault. That’s right. I am the one responsible. And so are you!

We as Americans have failed. We have failed. Let that sink in for a little bit. You have failed. Are you angry yet? Well you can only be angry at yourself. Because we (me + you) are to blame. I’m not going to take all the blame myself. And you shouldn’t have to either.

If you are still reading, I commend you for your integrity (and your endurance). You are probably asking yourself how it is your fault. Because you are an American. That’s why.

Here is how democracy works:
• Constituents are given the right to vote.
• Constituents do or do not vote.
• Officials are elected by the voice of the people.
• Officials act in what they believe is the best interest of the people.

Can you see where I am going with this? Americans are to blame for this HCR bill that is supposedly “un-constitutional” and “socialist.” We voted the officials. They made decisions.

Did we vote? 126,869,659 people cast a presidential ballot in the election in 2008 (CBS News, 2008). There were 209,193,090 people over the age of 18 (U.S Census Bureau, 2008). That means only 60% of the population that was of voting age did

Did we write a letter to our representative? Or did we just post as our Facebook status “I’m so sick of this HCR BS.” Because I am pretty sure my Rep. doesn’t follow me on Facebook.

I am as much to blame as anyone else. That is why the title of this post is what it is. So America, let’s stop blaming the government and the rich, fat white people and Obama and Bin Laden for all of our problems. Take some responsibility. Let’s be accountable for our actions for once. Because America, that is our biggest problem. We are not accountable. We are almost always looking to pass the buck. We can’t bear the shame that we might have made a mistake. It is almost always someone else’s fault. Let’s grow up. We’re better than that America.

Happy New Year!! | ZAPSOCK

So I took a break that was much too long. I have been working on a few different things. I was working on my wife’s website for a while. It isn’t finished yet. But it took me a while because I am not a web designer. Just because I am an Internet Marketer does not make me a web designer. I am a strategist. I am a master planner. I create plans and then execute those plans with the help of a team. The team is very small right now. So why was I doing my wife’s website? Because I wanted the experience. I wanted to know how to do it. It is fun to do, and it is good to know.

Also, the holidays have kept me rather busy. Now that the holidays are over and I have no New Year’s resolutions, I should have plenty of time. Classes start up again tomorrow.

So here is a Happy New Year to all. Make it a great one!
